What it is
Vitamin C in its pure, most effective and least stable form: L-ascorbic acid at 23%. That strength is the point and also the catch. It works, and it demands more care in how you store and introduce it than a gentle derivative would.
What it is formulated to do
- Brighten the look of dull skin and fade the appearance of dark spots
- Support firmness over consistent use
- Defend against daily environmental stress, with vitamin E alongside
Key ingredients
- Ascorbic acid 23%
- Tocotrienols and tocopherol (vitamin E), which work with vitamin C
- Glutathione and niacinamide
- Sodium hyaluronate, panthenol and squalane
Who it suits
Skin working on dullness and dark spots. It is strong. A mild tingle on the first few uses is common; sharp or lasting stinging is not, and means you should stop.
How to use
- Start two or three times a week and build up only if your skin stays comfortable.
- After cleansing and toner, shake the bottle and apply two to three drops.
- Pat from the centre of the face outwards. Keep it away from the eyes.
- Follow with moisturiser. SPF30 or higher every morning.
Use one vitamin C product at a time. Do not layer it with retinol or strong exfoliants in the same routine; use them at opposite ends of the day.
Storage, which matters with this one
- Keep it in the fridge to slow oxidation.
- Use it within about two months of opening.
- A pale yellow tint is normal. Dark orange or brown means it has oxidised and should be replaced.
