The Madagascar Centella Ampoule is SKIN1004’s most pared-back formula: a short ingredient list centred on Centella asiatica extract, with no added fragrance, essential oils or colourants. The texture is thin and watery rather than tacky, so it layers under anything else in your routine without pilling.
Why Centella
Centella asiatica, also sold as cica, tiger grass or gotu kola, is one of the most widely used soothing botanicals in Korean skincare. SKIN1004 sources its extract from Madagascar and builds the whole formula around it, supported only by glycerin and butylene glycol for hydration and a cellulose thickener.
What it is formulated to do
- Calm the appearance of redness and visible irritation
- Deliver lightweight hydration without heaviness or stickiness
- Support a barrier that feels stressed, tight or reactive

Who it suits
All skin types. It is a sensible first ampoule for sensitive, reactive or post-breakout skin because the ingredient list is short and fragrance-free. It also works as a calming layer alongside stronger actives such as retinol or exfoliating acids on the days those feel like too much.
How to use
- Cleanse, then apply your toner and let it settle.
- Dispense two to three drops onto your fingertips.
- Press and pat across the face rather than rubbing, so it absorbs evenly.
- Wait until it has sunk in, then follow with moisturiser. In the morning, finish with sunscreen.
Suitable for both morning and evening use. If your skin is new to a product, patch test on the inner forearm first.
