What it is
CeraVe approaches sunscreen the way it approaches moisturiser: protection is only half the job, and the formula should leave the barrier better than it found it. This one pairs SPF 50+ with the brand’s ceramide base.
Protection
SPF 50+, broad spectrum. The exact UV filters are printed on the tube. CeraVe sells several sunscreens under similar names and the filter systems differ between them and between markets, so we have not reproduced a filter list here. If a specific filter matters to you, read the pack.
What it is formulated to do

About the ceramides
Every CeraVe formula is built on the same idea: three ceramides (NP, AP and EOP) in the same
ratio skin makes them, with cholesterol and fatty acids. Ceramides are what hold the skin barrier
together, and skin that is dry, stripped or reactive is usually short of them. The brand’s MVE
delivery system holds those ingredients in layered spheres so they release slowly rather than all
at once.

How to use
- Last step of the morning routine, about 15 minutes before going out.
- Apply generously to face and neck. Two finger-lengths is the usual guide.
- Reapply every two hours in strong sun, and after swimming, sweating or towelling.
- Remove it properly in the evening with a thorough cleanse.
