What it is
A lip liner does two jobs: it gives your lips a defined edge, and it gives lipstick something to
grip so it stays put instead of feathering into the skin around your mouth. This one is soft enough
to glide without dragging, and the formula is waterproof, so the outline survives the day even when
the lipstick on top has worn down.

Choosing a shade online
Screens show colour differently, and lip products always look different on skin than they do in
a swatch. Treat the shade images as a guide rather than an exact match. If you are between two
shades, the lighter one is the safer first buy.
How to use
- Start at the centre of your upper lip and draw outwards to each corner, following your natural
lip line. - Do the lower lip the same way.
- For longer wear, fill in the whole lip before your lipstick.
- To make lips look fuller, line just outside your natural edge — a fraction, not more.
Sharpen only when the tip goes blunt, and only a little at a time. Over-sharpening a soft liner
snaps the lead.
Good to know
Patch test a new makeup product on your inner arm if your skin or eyes react easily. Do not share
lip or eye products, and replace eye products every few months once opened — mascara and
liquid liners in particular.
