What it is
One of Anua’s most direct formulas. Where most brightening serums hedge, this one states its percentages on the bottle: niacinamide at 10%, tranexamic acid at 4%, arbutin at 2%. All three work on pigment by different routes, which is why they are combined. The texture stays light and absorbs without tack.
What it is formulated to do
- Fade the look of existing dark spots and post-blemish marks
- Discourage new marks from settling after a breakout heals
- Even out overall tone and refine the look of texture
- Keep the barrier supported while strong actives work
Key ingredients
- Niacinamide 10% for tone, texture and barrier support
- Tranexamic acid 4%, which interrupts melanin production
- Arbutin 2%, a second brightening route
- Ceramides, hyaluronic acid and polyglutamic acid for hydration and barrier
Who it suits
Skin dealing with dark spots, melasma-type patches or stubborn post-acne marks. Niacinamide at 10% is a high concentration, so if your skin is sensitive, start every other night and build up. Patch test first.
How to use
- After cleansing and toner, apply a few drops to the areas you are treating.
- Pat it in. Avoid the eye and mouth area.
- Follow with moisturiser.
- Build slowly: start a few times a week, then move to twice daily if your skin is comfortable.
- Sunscreen of SPF30 or higher every morning. Brightening work undone by UV is wasted work.
It can be used alongside vitamin C. Very sensitive skin may prefer vitamin C in the morning and this at night.
